A robust Colombian tarantula with vivid red leg coloration. The Colombian Giant Redleg (Megaphobema robustum) is a substantial terrestrial and burrow-oriented display species. The current option is juvenile/medium with a stated 2–3-inch leg span; it is presently unavailable.
Enclosure and care
Provide a secure terrestrial enclosure with generous burrowable substrate, a stable hide, a low fall distance, a clean water dish, and appropriate ventilation. Avoid repeatedly opening an established retreat. Offer appropriately sized live prey, remove leftovers, and minimize disturbance around premolt and molt.
