Terms of service

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian, to use the Services. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting your credentials, and all activity under your account. Notify us through the contact form if you believe an account has been used without authorization.

2. Products & information

We make reasonable efforts to describe products accurately. Live animals naturally vary in color, pattern, size, age, and appearance; photos and measurements are representative rather than guarantees of a particular individual. Colors may also vary by display.

We may change product descriptions, availability, quantities, or prices at any time. We may limit sales by customer, household, region, or jurisdiction when reasonably necessary for animal welfare, legal compliance, inventory, or fraud prevention.

3. Orders, payment & cancellation

An order is an offer to purchase. We may accept, reject, limit, or cancel an order for inventory, payment, legal, animal-welfare, shipping, pricing-error, or fraud-prevention reasons. If we cancel after payment, we will issue the appropriate reversal or refund to the original payment method where applicable.

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing, delivery, and payment information. Requests to change or cancel an order are governed by our Refund Policy and are not guaranteed after fulfillment begins.

4. Live animals & legal compliance

Isopods, springtails, and other invertebrates are living organisms. You are responsible for confirming that possession, receipt, and use are lawful in your state and local jurisdiction. You must not order a species that is prohibited at your destination.

Never release purchased animals into the wild. You are responsible for secure housing, suitable temperature and humidity, species-appropriate food, escape prevention, and humane care after successful delivery.

5. Shipping & delivery

Shipping methods, weather rules, pickup requirements, delivery responsibilities, and live-arrival coverage are governed by our Shipping Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

Delivery dates are estimates. You must provide an accurate delivery or pickup location, monitor tracking, retrieve Hold for Pickup packages the same day, and bring home-delivered packages indoors within one hour of the carrier-recorded delivery time. Carrier tracking is the official delivery record.

6. Live-arrival claims

Report a live-arrival problem within one hour of carrier-recorded delivery or pickup. Email support@isopodking.com with your order number, clear photos of the affected animals and all packaging, and a brief description. The contact form does not accept photo attachments. Keep the animals, products, and packaging until the claim is resolved.

Qualifying claims are resolved under the Refund Policy, normally by replacement or store credit. Carrier delays, incorrect or incomplete addresses, theft after delivery, refused deliveries, unclaimed pickup holds, and failure to follow shipping requirements are not refundable.

7. Returns & refunds

Live and perishable items cannot be returned after shipment for animal-welfare and biosecurity reasons. Non-live merchandise, order changes, cancellations, claim deadlines, exclusions, and available remedies are described in our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

8. Acceptable use

You may use the Services only for lawful personal or commercial purchasing purposes. You must not:

• violate laws, regulations, third-party rights, or animal-welfare requirements;
• submit false, misleading, fraudulent, abusive, defamatory, or unlawful material;
• transmit malware, harmful code, spam, phishing, or unauthorized advertising;
• collect personal information about others without authorization;
• interfere with security, access controls, availability, or operation of the Services;
• scrape, copy, reproduce, resell, or exploit the Services or content beyond what law permits; or
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or authority.

We may restrict or terminate access when we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.

9. Intellectual property

The Services and their original text, graphics, photographs, branding, logos, designs, and arrangement are owned by Isopod King or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Services for their intended purpose. No other rights are granted.

10. Feedback & submissions

If you voluntarily submit suggestions, reviews, photos, or other feedback, you represent that you have the right to share it and that it does not violate another person’s rights. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, and display the submission to operate, improve, and promote the Services. This does not require us to publish or respond to a submission.

11. Third-party tools & links

The Services may include tools, payment methods, links, or content provided by third parties. They are offered subject to the third party’s terms and privacy practices. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, content, availability, or transactions. Review their policies before using them.

12. Relationship with Shopify

Shopify provides the platform that enables the Services, but purchases from this store are transactions directly between you and Isopod King. Shopify is not the seller of our products and is not responsible for our products, fulfillment, support, or transactions, except as provided in Shopify’s own terms.

13. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information are described in the Isopod King Privacy Policy. Shopify’s processing is also described in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.

14. Errors & service changes

Information may occasionally contain typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions involving descriptions, pricing, promotions, shipping charges, transit times, or availability. We may correct errors, update information, or cancel affected orders as permitted by law.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We are not liable for changes or interruptions beyond obligations imposed by law.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services and products are provided “as is” and “as available,” except for express promises stated in our policies or product listings. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, and non-infringement where the law allows.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure access to the Services. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty limitations, so these limitations may not apply to you.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Isopod King and its owners, personnel, contractors, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, loss of data, replacement costs, or similar losses arising from the Services or products.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits rights available under applicable consumer-protection law.

17. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Isopod King and its personnel and service providers from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Services, breach of these Terms, violation of another person’s rights, or improper care, release, or use of live animals after successful delivery.

18. Severability, waiver & assignment

If a provision is held unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them as part of a business transfer or reorganization.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.

20. Changes & entire agreement

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version here. Material changes take effect as required by applicable law. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.

These Terms, together with the policies linked here and any product-specific terms, form the entire agreement concerning your use of the Services and replace earlier understandings on the same subject.
