Mastigoproctus giganteus - Texas Giant Vinegaroon

This stock is sold under the supplier trade name Mastigoproctus giganteus, Texas Giant Vinegaroon. The former M. giganteus complex has been divided into several species, so a Texas common name alone does not confirm the current scientific identity of this stock. Ask for supplier identification and collection locality before ordering for a species-specific project. Vinegaroons lack a venomous sting but can release an acidic defensive spray that irritates eyes and nasal tissues.

Why This Vinegaroon is Legendary:

• Stock size: The ordering option is Wild Caught Mix Size; it does not guarantee an exact body length or adult size
• Defensive spray: No venomous sting; the acidic spray can irritate eyes and nasal tissues. Observe without provoking the animal or exposing your face to the spray
• Trade identification: Texas Giant Vinegaroon; the current species identity and collection locality need supplier confirmation
• Unique Defense: Sprays acetic acid (vinegar) when threatened, giving them their common name
• Care planning: Confirm the current stock identity and husbandry before choosing species-specific conditions
• Fascinating Behavior: Active burrower and nocturnal hunter with unique sensory whip tail

Care Level: Beginner to Intermediate - Requires deep substrate for burrowing and proper humidity

Each specimen is carefully selected and ships with our live arrival guarantee. Add this magnificent desert giant to your collection!
