Terrestrial Amphipods (Land Shrimp) Culture

A lively addition to the leaf litter. This culture contains terrestrial amphipods, commonly called Land Shrimp. These fast-moving crustaceans hop and dart through leaf litter, adding a different type of cleanup-crew animal to a bioactive enclosure. They are amphipods rather than isopods.

This warm, humidity-loving culture is suited to an established, tropical-style enclosure, and we recommend it to Keepers who already have some bioactive experience under their belt. As with any new culture, give it a quiet, undisturbed setup while it settles in and starts breeding.

• An unusual, high-activity cleanup crew animal
• Fast moving with a distinctive jumping behavior
• Best suited to Keepers with some bioactive experience
• A fun conversation piece in any tropical vivarium
