CARE AT A GLANCE

Keeper level:
advanced
Climate:
Tropical

A splash of true scarlet. Ardentiella sp. "Scarlet" is a vivid red member of a genus known for saturated, fiery colors. Against a dark tropical substrate, a Scarlet colony reads as a moving field of color, one of the most photogenic isopods a Keeper can display.

Like other Ardentiella, Scarlet wants a warm, consistently moist tropical setup. Keep the enclosure around 72 to 80F and 75 to 90% humidity, with a moist substrate and moderate calcium supplementation.

  • Vivid, saturated scarlet red coloring
  • One of the standout display isopods in the hobby
  • Rewards a well maintained tropical bioactive setup
  • A true centerpiece species for a display enclosure
