The original, unmodified laevis. Porcellio laevis Wild Type isopods carry the natural coloring of one of the hardiest, fastest growing Porcellio species in the hobby. Found originally across Europe and North Africa and now established worldwide, this is the classic laevis look before any of the fancy morphs were selected.

They handle medium moisture with plenty of calcium available, comfortable across 65 to 80F and 55 to 75% humidity. Adults reach a large 15 to 20mm, and because they're so easy to produce in bulk, many Keepers also grow them as a feeder option for bigger reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates.

  • Large, hardy, fast-growing Porcellio
  • Comfortable across a wide temperature and humidity range
  • Doubles as a cleanup crew or a feeder culture
  • Easy to produce in bulk once established

Covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee.
