CARE AT A GLANCE

Adult size:
3 to 5 mm
Climate:
Tropical

An easy first culture. Dwarf White isopods (Trichorhina tomentosa) are small, pale, and low maintenance, making this starter pack a great entry point into keeping a dedicated cleanup crew species. Native to the tropical Americas, they reproduce parthenogenetically, so this starter group can grow into a full colony on its own.

Give them consistently moist substrate with light calcium available, and hold conditions around 72 to 82F and 75 to 95% humidity. Adults stay around 3 to 5mm, small enough to disappear into the substrate while they work.

  • Small starter culture that's easy to establish
  • Parthenogenetic, no pairing required to reproduce
  • Comfortable in consistently moist, humid setups
  • A gentle first cleanup crew species for new Keepers

Covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee.
