The Vitalius chromatus, commonly known as the Brazilian Red & White, is a stunning terrestrial species from Brazil that showcases beautiful contrasting red and white coloration. This gorgeous New World tarantula is highly sought after by collectors who appreciate colorful, eye-catching display species with manageable temperaments.
Appearance:
Adults display striking red to rusty-orange coloration on their carapace and legs, beautifully contrasted by bright white to cream-colored banding on their leg joints and abdomen. Their robust build and dense setae give them a plush, velvety appearance. The candy cane-like color pattern combined with their substantial size makes them one of the most visually distinctive Brazilian species available.
Temperament & Behavior:
V. chromatus are generally calm and make excellent display specimens. They're moderate burrowers and will create webbed retreats in their substrate. Their docile nature and stunning red and white coloration make them fascinating to observe and a prized addition to any collection.
