Subtle color, serious durability. Punta Cana isopods (Armadillidium vulgare) show a pale, speckled pattern across their plates, a quieter look than some vulgare morphs but no less striking in a group. Like the rest of the species, they trace back to Europe and are now established worldwide.
This is one of the hardiest isopods you can keep, comfortable across a wide range of setups and quick to roll into a defensive ball when startled. They work through waste and decaying plant matter without fuss and appreciate a calcium source alongside their usual diet.
